Día de los Muertos
Thanks to Keeka Baedke from Des Moines, we had a great time celebrating the Day of the Dead a little earlier this year. We had a lot of fun making flowers and 'papel picado'. Since Día de los Muertos is all about celebrating life we had a lot of fun in class, especially when we danced to the song "Sólo se vive una vez." At first students were a little shy to dance but they eventually loosened up and had a lot of fun in class. The next step is for Spanish 2, 3 and 4 to present their boxes/'ofrendas' in class this coming Tuesday.

Spanish 1 - Unidad 4 Lección 2 - Vocabulario
I need to present this vocabulary to my students and even though I have videos provided by the book company, I thought students may respond better to a video with their own teachers and classmates in it. I recruited the Math teacher Mr. Barber, the Social Studies teacher Mr. Burkhart and a volunteer student Travis Crotty. Then, I also had another student(Robert Mercer) edit the video to add the vocabulary pictures. I hope you enjoy it and learn some of the words....
